Learn To Dive | Refresh Your Skills
My name is Jeff Toorish and this is my website. This site is designed to document my diving travels and exploration, as well as my work as a dive journalist and photographer.

It is my hope that this site will provide interesting information, photos and useful data.

If there is something you are interested in seeing on AtomicPirate.com, please send me an E-mail at jtoorish@gmail.com.

My primary diving interest is exploration diving. As a photographer and writer for Advanced Diver Magzaine I have had the opportunity to dive in some of the most remote and fascinating places in the world. I also write for the National Association of Cave Diving Jourrnal and Northeast Diver Magazine.

I am a rebreather diver, and most of my diving is now closed circuit.

I have recently added a new feature to AtomicPIrate.com, YouTube Interviews. Most of these interviews are related to rebreather diving, and they are in conjunction with Advanced Diver Magazine and RebreatherWorld.com.

If you are interested in viewing my non-diving related photos, please visit my other website, JeffToorish.com.

By all means, if you have any questions of ideas, get in touch. I'm always interested in hearing what people have to say --Jeff

Jeff Toorish is an advanced SSI and NAUI instructor with years of diving experience from simple recreational open water dives to extreme cave exploration.

REVIEW: The Canon 7D is a spectactular camera, many people believe it was the camera Canon was destined to build.

For underwater work, the Canon 7D coupled with the Aquatica A7D Housing is an unbeatable combination. To read my review of the A7D Housing, CLICK HERE.

The wreck is sitting at more than a hundred feet. In trying to salvage a stubborn porthole from the wheelhouse, it seemed as if the Devil himself had tattooed that porthole onto the ship. To date, the porthole remains on the boat.

Winter 2010: I've recently returned from an expeditoin to the northern part of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico as part of a team of explorers working for the Yucatan Department of Ecology. Our mission was to find and document cenotes in the area. This is a relatively unexplored portion of Yucatan and we made some significant finds.

This is a short video the illustrates how we explore a cenote: Yucatan 2010 | GET ON THE ROPE

You can also read about the expediton in the Spring 2010 edition of Advanced Diver Magazine.
